Job description

Our client is a Dutch shipbuilder of navy vessels, with customers all over the world. For their office in Vlissingen, we are looking for Junior Cyber Security Engineer.

The role
As Junior Cyber Security Engineer, you will work on a broad variety of tasks in the field of Networking and IT systems. You can be involved from the first (proposal) phase in the project to perform design proposals. During the execution of the project, you will work in a team of several engineers in order to ensure solid and secure Networking and IT Systems. As Junior Cyber Security Engineer you have knowledge of cyber security.
 
Key accountabilities
  • Contributing to the engineering process by developing the required deliverables, such as specification documents, functional descriptions, schematic drawings and test/validation plans
  • Participating in discussions and reviews related to IT security and radiation technology
  • Incorporate changes in IT security regulations and, if necessary, advise involved internal/external stakeholders.
  • Contributing to the analysis and verification plans for IT security measures
  • Participating in design checks and reviews in order to guarantee the required cyber security standards.
  • Verifying the technical performance of vendors and subcontractors

Job requirements

  • Bachelor or Master degree in Industrial Automation, IT Systems, Information Security Management or another relevant discipline
  • One to three years of experience in the design or maintenance of complex IT systems, preferably in ships, offshore or industrial installations
  • Experience and knowledge of networking and IT systems, including related hardware infrastructure and software (LAN, WLAN, VLAN, VPN etc)
  • Experience and knowledge about the different networking architectures, layers and protocols (TCP/IP, STP, ARP, FTP, UDP etc), cyber security concepts, data encryption and radiation safety
  • Knowledge about modern networking applications, services (DHCP/DNS) and relevant standards and regulations related to Cybersecurity, such as ISO 27001
  • Good command of the Dutch and English language, preferably also the German language or willing to learn (written & verbal)
  • EU citizenship or EU work visa is required
  • A background check will be part of the selection procedure

Our offer

  • Salary: up to € 4000,- gross per month, depending on experience
  • Annual leave: 27 days per year
  • ADV hours: 13 days per year with the option to sell these in exchange for a maximum of 5% more salary (0.383% per day)
  • Travel costs: € 10 per month for the first 10 km, then 0.19 cents per km. A T-tag is issued for employees who use the Westerscheldetunnel for commuting
  • Collective Labor Agreement: Collective Labor Agreement Metalektro applies
  • Pension: Compulsory participation in the PME pension scheme
  • Premium distribution: employer 50% and employee 50%
  • Profit-sharing: If the results of the company give reason to do so
