Job description

Our client is a Dutch shipbuilder of navy vessels, with customers all over the world. For their office in Vlissingen, we are looking for a Desk Expeditor for a project-based position. Given the military nature of clients and projects, permanent multi-year EU citizenship combined with a permanent EU work visa is strictly required.

Responsibilities:
  • Proactively monitor, expedite, and report performance regarding delivery times for both internal documents as vendor data to ensure timely delivery
  • Act as point of contact for internal related document and vendor data issues for different sub-projects
  • Coordinate between Engineering and Purchasing departments
  • Initiate alignment between planning, engineering, and expediting
  • Initiate mitigating actions in case of (expected) overrun of delivery times
  • Report on status and progress
  • The Desk Expeditor functionally reports to the Project manager Engineering or his delegate

Job requirements

  • Bachelor degree in a Logistical discipline and at least two years of relevant work experience in a technical, logistic and/or production environment
  • Experience with and knowledge of planning methods and understanding of Engineering processes
  • A profile as a proven team player with strong negotiation/communication skills and assertiveness in combination with an independent, well structured, and hands-on mentality
  • You have excellent Dutch and English communication skills in writing and speaking
  • Permanent multiyear EU citizenship combined with a permanent EU work visa are all required given the military nature of clients and projects
  • A background check will be part of the selection procedure

Our offer

  • Salary depending on experience
  • Annual leave: 27 days plus 13 days ADV
  • Travel costs: € 10 per month for the first 10 km, then € 0.19 per km
  • Pension benefit: employer 50% and employee 50%
