They employ hundreds of professionals and have a rich tradition of naval shipbuilding with its original roots stemming back more than 100 years. Our client has been an important partner for our Royal Netherlands Navy for more than 50 years now. For their location in Vlissingen, we are looking for a Solution Architect Ship Simulators.
The role Our client supplies training equipment as part of the Integrated Logistic Support (ILS) package with newly build ships. One type of equipment are simulators, like bridge and engine room simulators. Currently, we are looking for a Solution Architect Ship Simulators who has intimate knowledge of simulators, knows how to implement them in an educational organisation and link different simulation systems and solutions to each other.
The role of the Solution Architect Ship Simulators is to support the project by understanding and interpreting the requirement set by the (potential) client and help to design a solution to satisfy these requirements. These requirements will be technical, logistical and/or didactical in nature all while keeping IT security in mind.
Key accountabilities As Solution Architect Ship Simulators, you will:
Support the project team with requirements analysis, decomposition designing the solution considering technical feasibility, connectivity and IT security, didactical concepts, cost estimation, planning, risk analysis and change management
Support the project team with supplier selection and evaluation
Support bid teams with technical advice with respect to simulator solutions
Support the service organisation with technical advice about hardware refresh and software upgrade activity during the maintenance period of delivered simulators
Job requirements
Bachelor or master’s degree in a relevant technical discipline
Technical understanding of (ship) simulation systems
Understanding of multiuser/multi sim environments (Taues/Vtam)
Able to identify and use new technologies as part of the solution (xR, gamification)
Good command of the Dutch and English language (written & verbal) and mastery of the German language is a plus, but not essential
EU citizenship is required, candidate will be subject to pre-employment security screening

Salary depending on experience
Annual leave: 27 days plus 13 days ADV
Travel costs: € 10 per month for the first 10 km, then € 0.19 per km
