Job description

Our client, a renowned Dutch shipbuilder of navy vessels, with an established customer portfolio is currently seeking a Structural Analyst Fatigue R&D to be based in Vlissingen on a project-based assignment. Given the military nature of clients and projects, an EU citizenship/valid EU work visa is mandatory.

The role
Your team will work on a project basis and is divided over various projects, which contribute to both basic engineering and detailed engineering within the field of expertise. You will be involved in international R&D work related to the development, validation and implementation of direct hull structure fatigue assessment and monitoring methods.

Calculation aspects mainly consider fatigue but can be extended to strength, stiffness, vibrations, buckling, military loads such as blast and signatures aspects (for example inboard- and underwater sound), producibility, maintainability, etc.

As Structural Analyst Fatigue R&D you will be responsible for the relevant project deliverables from class approval of the structure up to technical meetings with your colleagues, suppliers, class and or client representatives. You will direct the structural engineers in modelling the structure in 3D-CAD ending up with checking drawings and production packages. You will also contribute to the department to secure knowledge and improvement of internal processes.
