50th anniversary of Oceanwide

50 years of connecting people in the Maritime & Energy sector

1 May 2026 marks a very special milestone in Oceanwide’s history. We are proud to celebrate our 50th anniversary, five decades defined by a firm belief that people always come first.

Oceanwide’s story began at sea. What started as an idea aboard a vessel grew into a clear vision of providing reliable and professional crew solutions with genuine care for people. Guided by this belief, Oceanwide was officially established in Vlissingen on 1 May 1976. Initially delivering services for their former employer, the founders soon expanded their activities to supplying qualified maritime crews.

Not long after, Oceanwide broadened its services to the offshore energy sector, responding to the rapidly evolving needs for technical personnel and contributing with an offshore catering division to deliver daily catering and hospitality services for offshore platforms and offshore working vessels.

First office of Oceanwide in 1976 in Vlissingen

Today, Oceanwide operates a strong international network of branch offices, with locations in Vlissingen, Den Helder, Capelle aan den IJssel, the United States, Mexico, Latvia, Lithuania and Cyprus. What began as a single office in Vlissingen has grown far beyond its original horizons while remaining firmly rooted in the Netherlands.

Throughout five decades of industry change, Oceanwide has continuously adapted to new technologies and shifting market demands. One principle, however, has remained constant: a people-first approach based on trust, safety and long-term partnerships with both clients and crew.

As we look into the future, our focus remains on sustainable growth, innovation and even training and education with a majority in the training organization DRTC. As we expand our range of services, we will continue to invest in the next generation of maritime and offshore professionals. Backed by 50 years of experience and a global team of dedicated specialists, we are confident that we can navigate the future together.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all our employees, crew members, clients and partners, both past and present, who have contributed to our journey. This anniversary reflects our proud history and marks the beginning of a new chapter, with our new headquarters in Vlissingen set to open in early 2027.
