They employ hundreds of professionals and have a rich tradition of naval shipbuilding with its original roots stemming back more than 100 years. Our client has been an important partner for our Royal Netherlands Navy for more than 50 years now. For a position in The Hague, we are looking for a General Affairs Support Officer.

The role
As General Affairs Support Officer you will provide high-level administrative analytical support and assistance to the Managing Director and Director Sales Support in preparing policy & briefing papers and presentations. You will support and analyse relevant policy concepts, complex policy issues, including the possible impact of proposed business policies and political policy revisions.

Key accountabilities
As General Affairs Support Officer you will:

  • Contribute to the development of the company’s public affairs policies and strategy and stakeholder management
  • Analyse the national and international politics and the impact on relevant business and relevant stakeholders
  • Deliver, on a frequent basis, political trends and impact on the defence and security business (opportunities)
  • Be responsible for the office management of the office in The Hague

Functie-eisen

  • Master degree in business administration, political science, or another relevant study at master level
  • Relevant work experience gained in a relevant position preferably within the maritime or defence industry and/or naval or defence market
  • Relevant work experience gained in the political and stakeholder (management) field
  • Exceptional understanding of national and geopolitical mechanisms and trends with regards to the naval, defence and security market
  • Excellent understanding of the Dutch political system and landscape and relevant departments
  • Good command of the Dutch and English language both written & verbal
  • EU citizenship required, candidate will be subject to pre-employment security screening
