Job description

We are currently looking for a skilled and experienced first and second Backhoe Operators to join a Dredger project in the UK.

As a Backhoe Operator, you will play a crucial role in dredging operations, utilizing your expertise to operate heavy machinery and contribute to the successful completion of various excavation tasks. Please note that a valid UK work visa is mandatory for this position. Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maneuver backhoes on the Dredger Vessel to excavate, move, and grade sediments, rocks, or other materials as per project requirements.
  • Perform routine maintenance and inspections on backhoes to ensure proper functioning and identify any potential issues.
  • Follow safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and maintain a secure working environment on the vessel.
  • Collaborate with the dredging team to coordinate excavation activities and meet project deadlines.
  • Interpret and understand dredging plans, blueprints, and specifications to execute excavation tasks accurately.
  • Ensure proper storage and maintenance of tools and equipment used during dredging operations.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to provide progress updates and address any concerns or challenges.

Job requirements

To get started you must have:

  • A UK work permit is a must to get started!
  • Valid STCW documents.
  • Proven experience as a Backhoe Operator in the maritime industry.
  • Experience with operating and maintaining backhoes and other heavy machinery on a vessel.
