As a Chief Officer for general cargo vessels, your foremost duty is to navigate our ship safely and efficiently. Leading the crew on deck, you ensure smooth operations while proudly representing our organization and that of the client.
Responsibilities:
Assist in the navigation and maneuvering of the ship under the supervision of the Master.
Coordinate deck operations including loading and unloading, maintenance, and safety drills.
Supervise deck personnel to maintain a high standard of maritime skills and safety.
Ensure compliance with international and local maritime legislation and regulations.
Contribute to voyage planning, weather forecast checking, and maintaining ship documentation.
Serve as a liaison between the Master on duty and the rest of the crew.
Job requirements
Mandatory certificates according to STCW including a valid license as Chief Officer.
A minimum of 2 years of experience as an officer.
Excellent navigation and leadership skills.
In-depth knowledge of maritime regulations and safety procedures.
Strong command in English, both spoken and written.
Team player with a proactive and solution-oriented attitude.
Ability to handle emergencies onboard effectively.
