Job description
Our client is a Dutch shipbuilder of navy vessels, with customers all over the world. For their office in Vlissingen, we are looking for a Configuration Management Engineer.
The role You are responsible for managing the complete product configuration and all information that describes one of our client's customers unique vessels (effectively the product). It is your job to ensure that everyone has access to the correct, up-to-date product data in the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system during the entire life cycle of the product. This starts in the proposal phase with the preparation of a correct offer, continuing throughout the development phase with managing the configuration data, and extending into the maintenance phase of the delivered vessel, in such a way that the correct data is available for the instruction manuals and spare parts. You will support the formulation of Configuration Management (CM) processes and procedures, to be followed by a project, and record them in a Configuration Management Plan (CMP). You will transfer this knowledge to the project team by training them and providing functional CM support. You will build a product structure, including all product information (internal and external), ensure that it is duly administrated in the PLM system and assure that this information is all released and baselined correctly. Whenever changes are initiated, you will advise on how these should be incorporated into the product configuration. During the development process, you will have a controlling function. By means of reports you follow the compliance to the CM procedures and the status of changes, and you will initiate appropriate actions where necessary. By defining audit and verification moments, you will ensure that changes are implemented accordingly and are also verified. You pro-actively communicate your findings to internal and external stakeholders, as required.

Setup of the CMP for the project
Product structure setup
Master document list setup
Validating customer/supplier data
Configuring the project data environment in the PLM-system
Change control
Job requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and affinity with Systems Engineering and related technical processes (e.g. configuration management and/or data management, document control and change control).
You can define and improve processes and also document them accordingly, while having a helicopter view, but keeping a keen eye on the key details
You are a strong communicator both towards internal and external stakeholders, as well as having technical knowledge for the ability to effectively interpret and report on the status and issues relating to configuration data and change control
Good strong command of the English and Dutch languages (verbally and in writing) is required.
EU citizenship or EU work visa is required

Our offer
Salary: up to € 5000,- gross per month, depending on experience
Annual leave: 27 days per year
ADV hours: 13 days per year with the option to sell these in exchange for a maximum of 5% more salary (0.383% per day)
Travel costs: € 10 per month for the first 10 km, then 0.19 cents per km. A T-tag is issued for employees who use the Westerscheldetunnel for commuting
