As a Maritime Officer (Marof) for towage vessels, you are essential for the safe and efficient towing operations on board. You are responsible for assisting the Master in all aspects of towage and with navigation, communication, and safety. You play a crucial role in the preparation and execution of towing maneuvers.
Responsibilities:
Assist in navigation and execution of towing maneuvers under the direction of the Master.
Coordinate and supervise all deck operations.
Monitor and train the deck crew to maintain high standards of safety and technical skills.
Implement and maintain safety procedures.
Actively contribute to the planning of towing operations and respond to changing weather conditions.
Ensure communication between the Master, crew, and other involved parties.
Job requirements
Possession of the required STCW certificates for towage, including a valid maritime officer’s competency certificate.
At least 2 years of experience on towage vessels.
In-depth knowledge of navigation, towage techniques, and crisis management.
Strong leadership skills and experience in leading a team.
Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
Able to perform under high pressure.
