Oceanwide is looking for multiple Masters who like to board towage vessels for sea and/port services. At Oceanwide you can board (sea) tug, shoalbuster or a Multicats. We have projects available in the Netherlands, Europe, Africa but also in the Middle East. The schedule they sail in the Netherlands can be 1-4 weeks, in Europe 4-6 weeks and in Africa/the Middle East 6-8 weeks. Starting from November/December 2023

As a Master you can maneuver independently, preferably you have experience with ASD or Voith Schneider. You are responsible for the safe unloading, loading, and transport of ships/pontoons with or without cargo. Together with the chief engineer, you ensure that the ship is always in good condition.

Daily duties as a Master:

  • Independent maneuvering/watchkeeping.
  • Together with the chief engineer, monitors that the ship receives maintenance if necessary.
  • Maintaining administrative work.
  • You direct the crew. (minimal 3-6 persons).
  • Communicates with the customer, colleagues in the office, suppliers, etc.

Job requirements

As a Master, we expect the following from you:

  • Master certificate <3000 GT or no limitations. (500GT is also sufficient for port services). 
  • A Dutch CEC Certificate is obliged!
  • Able to start by November/December 2023
  • Experience with ASD or Voith Schneider is an advantage but not required. 
  • At least 6 months of experience on tug/work boats. 
  • Valid STCW certificates. 
  • Fluent in spoken and written English. 
  • You are stress-resistant and have good leadership skills. 
  • You are a go-getter, flexible and have strong communication skills.
