As Second Engineer, you are responsible for the management of watch-keeping in the engine room, including ship engineering routines in port or when at anchor. You work closely with the Chief Engineer and supervise the other engine room personnel. The team consists of 7-10 international engineers and ratings, together you take care of the maintenance and repairs of all technical maintenance relating to ship’s installation and equipment.
Job requirements
We require a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Second Engineer role, preferably on vessels with conventional engine types. Experience on smaller passenger vessels is highly preferred.You also have:
· a Second Engineer Certificate of Competence
· Excellent verbal and written command of the English language
· Hands-on and strong technical and problem-solving skills
· Strong leadership and managerial skills
· Ability to work in a multicultural environment
