Job description

Join Oceanwide as a Ship Electrician for one of our clients, where you'll play a vital role for a well operating vessel. It may depend on the project, but mostly you will sail in a 5-week rotation. You can be stationed on vessel types like: TSHD dredgers, cutter suction dredgers, shallow water cutter dredgers, or work in a team of electricians for cable layers or heavy lifting vessels.

You may work on multiple electrical and automation. Furthermore, you will collaborate closely with the Chief Engineer. You are responsible for maintaining and optimizing on-board electrical systems while ensuring strict adherence to the standards of the client.
Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the electrical integrity of on-board technical installations, optimizing systems and resolving related issues.
  • You take charge of the electrical maintenance and modifications. This all in consulting with the Chief Engineer.
  • Depending on complexity, you work independently or collaborate with colleagues in the same field to achieve the objectives.

Job requirements

  • Intermediate or higher vocational qualification in Electronic or Electrical Engineering preferred.
  • Preferably holds a seaman’s book, valid medical certification, and STCW Basic Safety certificate. An ETO-license is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Minimum three years of experience as an Electrical Engineer, ideally in maritime or industrial automation.
  • Proficiency in network systems, communication/navigation systems, and remote connections.
  • Strong PLC and network expertise required.
  • Specific knowledge regarding: ROV’s, offshore cranes, cable lay installations, dredging equipment is a plus.
  • Demonstrated flexibility, stress-resistance, and ability to work independently.
  • Proficient in the English language.
