Job description
Our client is a Dutch shipbuilder of navy vessels, with customers all over the world. For their office in Vlissingen, we are looking for a Team Lead Electrical & Automation.
The role You will be leading a small or mid-sized team of (Senior) Electrical & Automation Engineers during the execution of the project, to deliver the required engineering output. As Team Lead Electrical & Automation you will be ultimately responsible for the desired quality, timely delivery and reporting to the Project Manager Engineering.
Responsibilities:
Leading a small or mid-size Electrical & Automation engineering team during the execution of the project
Coaching the Electrical & Automation engineering team to work according to internal standards
Compose work breakdown structures and assign labour and cost budgets
Delivers quality engineering work on a timely basis to the Project Manager Engineering
Leading the Requirements Engineering and Systems Engineering process for the Electrical Systems
Leading the electrical engineering process by developing and reviewing the required deliverables, such as specification documents, functional descriptions, schematic drawings, and test/validation plans
Managing vendors and subcontractors to get their timely contribution to the project
Organize design checks and reviews to guarantee the required quality
Verifying the technical performance of vendors and subcontractors.
Performing technical analysis on received offers, in close cooperation with the Purchase department
Monitoring and controlling man-hour budget and making progress reports to the Project Manager Engineering
Coordinating technical support or commissioning activities for the project under contract
Ensuring full compliance to all applicable requirements and specifications imposed by class and customer
Helping to develop and describe standards and working methods
Job requirements
Bachelor or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Technical Automation, or another relevant technical discipline.
Minimum of five-year experience in the design of (complex) electrical & automation systems, preferably in ships, offshore or industrial installations
Experience in working in large project environments with high level of complexity and with leading an engineering team up to 10 people
Experienced to work with and manage third-party vendors and subcontractors
Good project management skills and able to structure work packages and get them realized according to contracted planning and labour/cost budgets
Used to work on class-regulated products and with Good Engineering Practices, including quality and budget awareness
Excellent command of Dutch and English language
EU citizenship or EU work visa is required
A background check will be part of the selection procedure
Our offer
Salary: up to € 6000,- gross per month, depending on experience/education
Annual leave: 27 days per year
ADV hours: 13 days per year with the option to sell these in exchange for a maximum of 5% more salary (0.383% per day)
Travel costs: € 10 per month for the first 10 km, then 0.19 cents per km. A T-tag is issued for employees who use the Westerscheldetunnel for commuting
Pension: Compulsory participation in the PME pension scheme
Premium distribution: employer 50% and employee 50%
Profit-sharing: If the results of the company give reason to do so
