Job description
Our client is a Dutch shipbuilder of navy vessels, with customers all over the world. For their office in Vlissingen, we are looking for a Team Lead Plans, Arrangements and Outfitting.
The role You can be involved from the pre-basic engineering phase in the project to set up a solid work breakdown and planning structure for all tasks that belong to the outfitting discipline. During the basic engineering phase of the project, you lead a team of several (Senior) Outfitting Engineers to deliver the required engineering output. During the detailed engineering of the project, you will lead a multi-disciplinary team or control the outsourced detailed engineering package. As Team Lead Outfitting you will be ultimately responsible for the desired quality, timely delivery, and report to the Project Manager Engineering. You will also coordinate the team activities regarding quality, planning, and man-hours.
Key accountabilities
Lead an outfitting engineering team during the basic engineering of shipbuilding projects and/or lead a multi-disciplinary team during the detailed engineering
Control detailed engineering of an outsourced detailed engineering package
Advice on the composition of work breakdown structures and assignment of man-hour budget
Deliver quality engineering work on a timely basis to the Project Manager Engineering
Contribute to the engineering process by developing and reviewing the required deliverables, such as functional descriptions, technical specifications, regulatory bodies, fabrication and mounting drawings, arrangements, and lists
Supervise and/or execute the engineering team activities within the 2D and 3D environments, such as Cadmatic or Catia
Integrate vendors and subcontractor’s information, support design checks and design reviews and verify technical data of vendors and subcontractors
Perform the technical analysis on received offers, in close cooperation with the Purchase department
Monitor and control man-hours spent and support progress reports to the Project Manager Engineering
Ensure full compliance to all applicable requirements and specifications imposed by regulatory bodies and the customer
Contribute to the further development of the department and develop and describe standards and working methods
Job requirements
Relevant Bsc degree combined with at least five years’ experience in the engineering of outfitting systems
Experience with 2D and 3D systems (Cadmatic or Catia) preferably in ships or offshore installations
Experience in leading and structure work packages of a mid-size engineering team up to ten people
Knowledge of class- and statutory rules and regulations such as SOLAS, Lloyds Register, DNV, etc.
Experience in working with vendors, subcontractors, and Good Engineering Practices, including quality and budget awareness
English / German language skills

Salary depending on experience
Annual leave: 27 days plus 13 days ADV
Travel costs: € 10 per month for the first 10 km, then € 0.19 per km
