As a Chief Engineer for Multicat vessels, you are the driving force behind the optimal operation of all equipment in the engine room. Your responsibilities include the operation and safety of the machinery and systems on board. You play a key role in operational efficiency, ensuring compliance with safety procedures and flawless execution operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Leadership: Direct the engine room personnel.
  • Monitor the operation, maintenance, and repair of machinery and systems, with special attention to the unique needs of Multicat operations.
  • Responsible for planning and executing maintenance and repair work, with a special focus on the reliability of key systems during lifting opterations.
  • Ensure compliance with international and local maritime legislation, with a strong emphasis on Multicat-specific regulations.
  • Coordinate logistics around fuel, oil, lubricants, and other essential supplies for effective and efficient Multicat operations.
  • Act as the crucial link between the Master and the engine room personnel to ensure clear communication and coordination during missions.

Job requirements

  • Mandatory certifications such as STCW, including a valid competency as Chief Engineer.
  • At least 2 years of experience as Chief Engineer, preferably with Multicats.
  • Extensive knowledge of machinery and systems specifically related to towage.
  • DP-full certificates.
  • In-depth knowledge of maritime regulations, safety procedures within towage.
  • Excellent command of the English language, verbal and written.
  • Proven leadership qualities and strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work under high pressure and respond effectively in emergency situations.
